Advent Home Groups 2021: God in the everyday
The theme for our Advent Home Groups this year finding God in the everyday. Drawing on our lockdown experience of sharing Zoom worship at our kitchen table, we reflect on our relationship with God in the “warp and weft” of our lives.
Jesus Christ is at the heart of our reflections, as we prepare to celebrate the Incarnation at Christmas. In our Quiet Day on Friday 26th November, we wonder at the meaning of those words of the much-loved carol, “Hark the Herald Angels sing”: “veiled in flesh the Godhead see; hail the incarnate Deity, pleased with us in flesh to dwell, Jesus, our Immanuel.”
Then our Home Groups meet over the following three weeks asking:
How do I encounter God in my everyday? How do I serve God in my everyday?
How do I speak of God in my everyday?
We have six Home Groups meeting through the week.
If you are already part of a Home Group, your leader will be in touch

Sign up for the Advent Quiet Day, 10.30am-3.00pm, Friday 26th November in Shipton Moyne Village Hall. Reflecting on John 1:1-14, we explore what it means that God comes to us, as a child born into the most ordinary of circumstances, walking and living with people in the everyday. The Quiet Day will offer a combination of shared prayer, Bible study, discussion and time for silent reflection.
