Prayer focus for the week beginning 10th March 2024:

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Sherwood Road, Linfoot Road & Holder Close
• The Parish of Long Newnton
• Give thanks for the current beauty of the flowers in the churchyard!
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Valerie Grey (Funeral in St John The Baptist, Shipton Moyne on Friday 22nd March at noon). We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 4/5 Maple Class with Ms Keen and Mrs Healey
• Praying for Elsie Brennan-Hughes (St Marys Tetbury on Saturday 9th March) and for Edward and Charles Entwisle (St John the Baptist, Shipton Moyne on Sunday 17th March) and their parents and Godparents.
• Local issues: for the year 11 students at SWR school, as they learn about the school or college they’ll be moving on to in September – may it be the right one for their abilities, personalities & talents
• National issues: As we celebrate Mothering Sunday, give thanks for all mothers, for their unstinting care of their families. Pray especially for any who have recently lost children through illness or violence – may they know God’s comfort in their grief.
• World issues: for the people of Ukraine, who have recently entered the third year of war. May they not feel forgotten. Pray for the Ukrainian refugees in the UK, a number of whom are finding themselves technically homeless as previous arrangement have broken down.

Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord. Psalm 31
