Prayer focus for the week beginning 12th November 2023:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Longfurlong Lane
• The Parish of Beverston
• The Welcomers and Sidesmen, especially as they greet newcomers to the church
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss , remembering especially Ann Marchant. We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 4/5 Ash Class with Mrs Wheeler/Mrs Hubble – Mrs Royle
• Praying for Peter Howard and Maisie Geers who are getting married in St John the Baptist Shipton Moyne on Saturday 18th November
• Local issues: as events are held to mark Remembrance Day, we give thanks for all those in the local area who gave their lives in the service of our country during the two great wars
• National issues: for integrity, impartiality and factual accuracy in news and media reports, especially in the current situation in Israel and Gaza.
• World issues: 16th November is International Day for Tolerance. Pray that people will listen and reflect before passing judgment, especially on social media
