Prayer focus for the week beginning 14th April 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: The Green
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• Please pray for our Licensed Lay Readers, as they take services in the various churches in our benefice, and give thanks for them.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Barbara Ball (Funeral in St Marys’ Tetbury on Tuesday 16th April at 2pm) Susan Davis, and Brian Kimber (Funeral in St Marys’ Tetbury on Wednesday 17th April at 2pm), Ian Spruels and Keith Body. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind: Kathleen “Kath” Hancock (16/04). (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends).
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 6 Rowan Class with Mr Godfry and Mrs Eke
• Praying for Maisie and Freddie Brushneen being baptised on Sunday at St mary’s Beverston and their parents and Godparents
• Local issues: Pray that the new ‘Being With’ course will attract a new cohort of those seeking for deeper meaning in life, that they will draw near to Jesus over the ten weeks.
• National issues: as the cricket season gets underway, may the game bring pleasure to many and may local cricket clubs flourish.
• World issues: Pray for NATO in its response to current threats to peace and stability in Europe
