
Prayer focus for the week beginning 14th January 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Old Brewery Lane and Warns Court
• The Parish of Long Newnton
• For those who produce the weekly Prayer Focus and run the weekly Tuesday early morning Zoom prayer time – may both be used to encourage intercessionary prayer in the benefice
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Peter Trustram Eve, Nick Tucker (priest, Funeral on Friday 12 Jan. at 2pm at Minchinhampton Baptist Church, Tetbury Street, Minchinhampton, GL6 9JH), Jean Peasley ( Funeral Tuesday 16th January at 2pm at North Wilts Crematorium) and Grace Vater (Funeral at St Marys’ Tetbury on Tuesday 23rd January at 2.00pm.) We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year Reception Lime Class with Mrs Hamilton – Mrs Bowen/Mrs Freeman
• Praying for Lyra Jepps being baptised on Sunday 14th January at St Mary’s Primary School Tetbury and her parents and Godparents.
• Local issues: give thanks for all who keep our roads and pavements clean, and for those who grit them in cold weather
• National issues: Pray for students returning to universities, that they will feel supported emotionally, socially and academically
• World issues: Pray again for the protection of citizens in Gaza, especially against attacks on refugee camps
