Prayer focus for the week beginning 1st October 2023:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Hampton Street & Cornwall Close
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• Pray for the helpers & leaders at our monthly iSingPOP CELEBRATE – give thanks that a good number of children & parents attended in September
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Rob Bell and Frederick Bedwell (Funeral in St Marys’ Tetbury on Tuesday 10th October at 2pm). We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 2 Holly Class with Mrs Makin – Mrs Walton
• Local issues: give thanks for all the cultural activities offered, in the Goods Shed, the Dolphins Hall, the churches and the Market Hall.
• National issues: for our national police force as it faces the difficult issues of carrying guns
• World issues: for all countries facing imminent elections, that democratic rights will be respected and that citizens may be able to vote without fear or coercion. We continue to pray for those affected by floods in Libya and the earthquake in Morocco.
Save us, Lord our God…that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise. Ps.106 V47
