Prayer focus for the week beginning 21st January 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Old Ilsom Farm Road
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• For our Vergers, supporting families coming for baptisms, weddings and funerals
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Peter Trustram Eve, and Grace Vater (Funeral at St Marys’ Tetbury on Tuesday 23rd January at 2.00pm.) We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 1 Pear Class with Ms Leake – Mrs Amor/Mrs Bell
• Local issues: give thanks for the businesses and individuals who provide care services for our pets – vets, groomers, dog and cat sitters, dog walkers. May they know they are appreciated
• National issues: pray for our national transport systems, that any ongoing rail disputes can be resolved and that the road and rail systems will be reliable and safe
• World issues: Pray for the safe development of AI, that it may be used for positive and not destructive purposes
For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Ps.95:3 Pray again for the protection of citizens in Gaza, especially against attacks on refugee camps
