Prayer focus for the week beginning 26th November 2023:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Magdalen Road
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• The Advent and Lent Home Group leaders and hosts – may they have insight and sensitivity as they nurture their groups
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Edna Cook (Funeral Tuesday 12th December at 10.45am at St Marys’ Tetbury) and Anthony “Tony” Fletcher. We give
thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 4/5 Ash Class with Mrs Wheeler/Mrs Hubble – Mrs Royle
• Praying for Harley Bryant being baptised at St Marys’ Tetbury on Sunday 3rd December and his parents and Godparents
• Local issues: please pray for the Advent Quiet Day, that it may be well attended and that all may be blessed by this opportunity for quiet reflection
• National issues: December 2nd is National Grief Awareness week: pray that each of us may be sensitive to the needs of those around us who may be grieving, even though their loved one(s) died some time ago
• World issues: As the Christmas season approaches, remember those charities, especially Christian charities, taking gift parcels to needy families, especially in countries such as Ukraine.
