Our prayer focus for the week beginning 27th November 2022:
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Northfield Road and Cattle Lane
• The Parish of St Marys, especially the 6.00pm Advent Carol Service on Sunday 27th November, also the journey of the Posada around homes in the parish – may it help families to prepare for the true meaning of Christmas
• The Switch-on of the Christmas lights in Tetbury Friday 2nd December – may it help to draw the community together
• Tetbury Church Christmas Market in the Market Hall Saturday 3rd December, also St Saviour’s Christmas Tree Festival Carol Service at 5.30pm – may both events help us to prepare for the celebration of God’s most precious gift of Jesus
• The Advent and Lent home group leaders and hosts, that they may know the guidance and insight of the Holy Spirit
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss, and all those we remember with love. We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for Lottie Price who is being baptised on Sunday 4th December at St Marys’ Tetbury and her parents and Godparents
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 5 Ash Class with Ms Withers/Mrs Wheeler and Mrs Williams
• National issues: for all those worrying about the extra expenses of the Christmas season
• World issues: pray for an end to human trafficking; that the 40 million people worldwide may have their freedom and dignity restored. Friday 2nd is International day for the abolition of slavery
To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. O my God, in you I trust. Ps 25 V.1
