Prayer focus for the week beginning 28th April 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: West Street and Cottons lane
• The Parish of Beverston
• Please pray for our elected PCC members, giving thanks for their willingness to serve and asking for the Holy Spirit’s wisdom to guide their decisions
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Ian Spruels (Funeral in St John the Baptist, Shipton Moyne on Friday 26th April at 2pm). We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind Robert “Bob” Hughes (01/05). (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Reception Lime Class with Mrs Boswell – Ms Kister/Mrs Bell
• Local issues: pray that people will use their vote thoughtfully on May 2nd for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gloucestershire
• National issues: that asylum seekers coming to this country will be treated justly, and that the bill just passed to send some to Rwanda will not cause further suffering
• World issues: for all the refugees in Gaza, that supplies, especially food and medical aid, can be brought in imminently, with the threat of increasing ill health as the temperature rises in the summer months
