
Prayer focus for the week beginning 28th January 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Oxleaze Road, Oxleaze Close and Chestnut Close
• The Parish of St Marys
• The Chalice Assistants, for their support of the clergy and ministry to the congregation
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Emily Bishop (Funeral at St Marys’ Tetbury on Monday 5th February at 1.30pm.) We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 1 Plum Class with Mrs Beckett – Mrs Bell/ Mrs Amor
• Local issues: give thanks for those who provide cleaning services, especially to those who are frail or housebound and who therefore also appreciate the regular companionship
• National issues: for all those whose cancer diagnosis or treatment has been delayed because of strikes or other pressures on the NHS – may they speedily receive the help they need
• World issues: Pray for governments and local people to work together to protect the Amazon rain forests from fires and their deliberate destruction to grow crops, with the consequent devastating impact on the environment and wildlife habitats
For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Ps.95:3 Pray again for the protection of citizens in Gaza, especially against attacks on refugee camps
