Prayer focus for the week beginning 30th July 2023:
Before you pray, give thanks to God that He is a God of compassion:
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Coronation Road & Lowfield Road
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• ‘Holiday@Home’ organisers and helpers – we thank God for all those involved, and may all the guests feel welcome and take back happy memories of a special day.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind: Peter Parkhouse (30/07), Don Parsons (31/07), Olive Merrill (02/08).
(“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends).
• Local issues: Please pray for the Tetbury Carnival on 30th July, especially for those organising the event, that all the plans will run smoothly and that it will be a successful community event.
• National issues: for the plans to build one million homes in the next three years, that they may be well constructed and in the areas where they are most needed, without impinging on the green belt. Pray especially for the rising number of families who are technically homeless, so are living in temporary and often unsuitable accommodation.
• World issues: pray for those countries which are currently suffering extremely high temperatures, especially that residents, visitors and fire fighters may be kept safe
Be still, and know that I am God. I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth! Ps.46:10
