
Prayer focus for the week beginning 3rd September 2023:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: De Borg Close, Chapman Link & Brays Avenue
• The Parish of St Marys
• The flower arrangers – we give thanks for their skill and imagination as they add beauty to the church
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Susan Townsend ( Funeral at Westerleigh Crematorium on Friday 15th September at 11.45am) and Paul Jackson (Funeral at St Marys’ Tetbury on Friday 8th September at 2.30pm). We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for Nathan Rowe and Holly Kings who are getting married in St Marys’ Tetbury on Saturday 2nd September.
• Praying for William Tickner & Beatrix Thompson being baptised in St Marys’ Tetbury on Sunday 3rd September and their parents and Godparents
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year Reception Cherry Class with Mrs Boswell – Ms Kister/Mrs Avis/Mrs Bell
• Local issues: as the new school year begins, we pray for staff and students, that they will settle in quickly to the new routines and feel well supported
• National issues: for the many people who live alone, that they may find friendship and support, especially with the darker evenings coming
• World issues: Friday 8th September is World Literacy Day – may people in every country, men and women, have access to literacy courses, and may children especially may have access to regular schooling
