Prayer focus for the week beginning 4th June 2023:
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Chavenage Lane & Five Trees Close
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• Church fabric teams
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss especially Pat Boulton, Barbara Lewsey (Service of Thanksgiving on Friday 2nd June at 2pm at Holy Trinity, Long Newnton) and David Lowsley Williams (Memorial service in Tetbury on Thursday 27th July at 2pm). We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind: Richard Blake (10/06). (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends).
• Praying for Archie Cox and Cedric Windle being baptised in St Marys’ Tetbury on Sunday 4th June and their parents and Godparents
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 1 Plum Class with Ms Beckett and Mrs Bell/Mrs Amor
• Local issues: we give thanks for all who give up their time to volunteer locally – in churches, friendship groups, charities, local schools, youth activities. May they ‘not grow weary in welldoing’. (It’s volunteers’ week 1st-7th June). We pray too for those going on the pilgrimage to Iona – may they be spiritually refreshed and renewed in their faith
Give thanks for our local wildlife – Bat walk 8th June, Count on Nature in the churchyard Saturday 10th June
• National issues: for all Christians who are facing challenges in their work as they seek to know how to apply their faith to current attitudes re sexuality
• World issues: Monday 5th is World Environment Day, and Thursday 8th is World Oceans Day. Pray that all nations will work towards the restoration of health for both land and sea.
And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. Matt.21:22
