Prayer focus for the week beginning 8th October 2023:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Havenhill Road, Dearnley Close & Roseblade Walk
• The Parish of St Marys
• The Servers, as they faithfully carry out their duties
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Frederick “John” Bedwell (Funeral Tuesday 10th October at 2.00pm at St Marys’ Tetbury) and Robert “Rob” Bell (Thanksgiving Friday 27th October at 2.00pm at St Marys’ Tetbury). We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 2 Juniper Class with Mr Brown and Mrs Smith
• Praying for Esme Lucio and Florence Lucio being baptised in St Marys’ Tetbury Saturday 14th October and their parents and Godparents
• Local issues: pray for God’s guidance in the ongoing discussion about the reshaping of St Marys church
• National issues: As Prisons Week begins on 8th October, pray for all prisoners and their families, that good may come out of their current situations. Pray also for prison staff, that they may be given strength, but also show compassion and understanding
• World issues: Friday 13th October is World Sight Day. Give thanks for the progress being made in treating visual problems, but pray also that help may reach those in remote parts of the world.
