The cash collection in Tetbury church on Sunday 16th January will be in aid of Jyoti Sanbtha a small charity in Northern India which helps poor farmers in the area to purchase seeds to plant to try to secure an income. Because of the effects of climate change they cannot rely on that being the case. The Charity also provides food where this is necessary to feed farmer’s families , clothing and pays for the costs of their children’s education. There is no other work in the whole area. If so, have you ever wondered just how old those bells are and for how long they have been ringing out their messages of passing events in history, and, tolling out the passing of time as the hours slip away?
