• The parish of St Marys
• Remember in prayer the Christian Aid Collectors and all who volunteer for charity collections throughout the year. Pray that the money raised during the Lent appeal for Water Aid will be used wisely to bring fresh water to remote villages.
• We pray for St Mary’s School and particularly Mrs Danton & Mrs Weston and the pupils of Oak Class.
• We pray for Simon and Laura Howe as their marriage is blessed at St Mary the Virgin Beverston on 10th May.
• We pray for Edward Boulton & Jennifer Jones being married in Holy Trinity Long Newnton on Friday 15th May. We pray that it will be a very special day and the start of a life-long commitment, with God at the centre of their relationship.
• We pray for Poppy Wootton-Jones being baptised at St Mary the Virgin Beverston on Saturday 16th May.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss, particularly Sue Thody. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Local issues: pray about the proposed housing estate building in the field by Longfurlong Lane, that the right decisions will be made regarding preservation of green belt land, while recognising the need for more housing in our area, especially social housing.
• National issues: Pray for students preparing for public examinations, that they will revise wisely and remain calm, despite the pressures.
• World issues: Tuesday 12th May is International Nurses’ Day. Give thanks for the dedication and care given by nurses everywhere, and pray that they will continue to serve with skill and compassion, and feel valued and supported in their work.
The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. Ps.116:5
