Prayer focus for the week beginning 10th November 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Havenhill Road, Dearnley Close and Roseblade Walk
• The Parish of Beverston
• Please pray for the welcomers and sidesmen in their important role in greeting newcomers
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss including Margaret Smith, Lee Pegler, Lady Anne McMeekin and Diana Painter. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 6 Oak Class with Mrs Danton and Mrs Weston
• Local issues: give thanks for all those who served and for those who gave their lives in defence of our country during two world wars, remembering also families who still grieve for those who died. May the Remembrance Day service on Sunday 10th and the parade to the war memorial be a fitting tribute.
• National issues: Pray for prisoners who are being released from prison early to ease overcrowding, that they will receive the support they need as they adjust to daily life once more, and that they will not be caught up again in harmful practices and relationships.
• World issues: Continue to pray for the situation in Israel, Gaza and Lebanon, that the war may not escalate further and that through diplomacy tensions may ease and a way may be opened towards peace
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
Are you, or someone you know, in need of prayer? You are welcome to hang your prayer request on the prayer tree in the prayer corner at the front of St Marys’ church
