Prayer focus for the week beginning 11th October

Hands

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Glovers Way, Taylors Walk, Quercus Road & Draper Close
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• Pray and give thanks for our wonderful church organist, Jonathan, and any who cover from time to time.
• Pray for St Mary’s School, particularly Miss Keen and Mrs Bell and the pupils of Pear class
• We pray for Ryan Bowen & Alexandra Hodgson being married in St Marys’ Tetbury on Thursday 15th October. We pray that it will be a very special day and the start of a life-long commitment, with God at the centre of their relationship.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss particularly, Robert Sowerby. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
• Local issues: Pray that someone will come forward with the right knowledge and experience to take over the role of Church Treasurer at St Marys. Give thanks for the faithful service of Mike Hardwick over recent years.
• National issues: Pray for our national security after the recent threat at Fairford.
• World issues: Saturday 17th October is International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. May this challenge be taken seriously, so that the millions of people trapped in poverty may be given hope and practical support to improve their standard of living and their lives generally.

Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Lamentation 3: 22-23
