Prayer focus for the week beginning 15th December 2024:

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Longfurlong Lane
• The Parish of Long Newnton
• Please pray for those who decorate the Christmas tree and the church in preparation for celebrating Christmas as a community
• Praying for James Lowsley-Williams and Emma Frampton who are getting married in St Marys’ on Saturday 21st December
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 2 Juniper Class with Miss Turner and Mrs Healey
• Local issues: Pray for special Christmas events at our local schools, that they may be joyful occasions for all.
• National issues: Pray for organisations such as the Salvation Army who are preparing to host Christmas lunches for those who are lonely or homeless. Give thanks for their compassion and generosity.
• World issues: Continue to pray for the situation between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, that the attempt at negotiating a ceasefire at the end of November may hold.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
