Prayer focus for the week beginning 15th September 2024:

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Cheviot Close, Suffolk Close and Shepherds Mead
• The Parish of Beverston
• Please pray for ‘Faith Explorers’ after-school club leaders and helpers at St Mary’s CofE Primary School, and that a good number of children will choose to participate.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Martin Allies (Service of thanksgiving Thursday 19th September at 2pm in St John the Baptist, Shipton Moyne) and Doreen Houghton. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for Charles Prosser (Holy Trinity, Long Newnton) and for Cosmo Rose (St John the Baptist, Shipton Moyne) who are being baptised on Sunday 15th September and their parents and Godparents.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 2 Holly Class with Mrs Makin – Mrs Bell
• Local issues: give thanks for the harvest festivals in our local churches, remembering the farmers who work so hard to produce our food.
• National issues: September 16-20 is Professional Carers’ Week. Pray for all who act as carers, either professionally or in their own families. May they have the support and resources they need as they care for those who are sick, vulnerable or elderly.
• World issues: Pray that the situation in the Middle East may not escalate further, especially between Israel, Lebanon and Iran.

Answer me, O Lord, for your steadfast love is good. Psalm 69:16
