• Give thanks and pray for the ‘Open the Book’ organiser and story tellers at St Mary’s CofE Primary School
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
• Local issues: pray that our local streams and rivers will be restored to health when the rain eventually falls
• National issues: Friday 21st August is the first National Day for Victims and Survivors of Terrorism. Pray for comfort, healing and peace for all those affected by such atrocities, and pray that our security services may be alert to any potential attacks
• World issues: Wednesday 19th August is World Humanitarian Day. Give thanks for all humanitarian workers who risk their own safety as they go into crisis situations. May their efforts prove fruitful in providing aid, support and care for people in desperate need.
