Prayer focus for the week beginning 16th March 2025:

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Quail Meadows
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• Give thanks for all those who prepare and serve the soup lunches in St Michael’s church hall during Lent. May the lunches be well attended.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss including Peta Pope, Harold Porter, Jane Fenwick, Janet Jones and Michael Smith. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind – Phyllis Hennessey (17/3), Brian Kimber (18/3) & Barbara Ball (21/3)- “Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death – often a difficult time for family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 3 Beech Class with Mr Bartrop and Mrs Amor.
• Local issues: Pray for the Open the Book team as it goes into St Mary’s school this week, that it will bring the Bible story alive and help the children to see the relevance of the stories to their own lives. Also pray for more volunteers to join the team.
• National issues: With energy bills imminently rising, please pray for families already struggling to pay bills – may they be given the advice and support they need.
• World issues: 22nd March is World Water Day. Pray that progress in science and technology may be used to provide fresh water to many communities currently struggling, especially where children are in danger of developing sickness and waterborne disease.

I cry aloud to God; I cry aloud, and he hears me. Psalm 77:1
