Prayer focus for the week beginning 17th March 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Silver Street, Fox Hill & Rope Walk
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• Pray that the current proposal by CDC (Cotswold District Council) to start charging car parking fees on Sundays (to help ‘balance the books’) may not deter churchgoers from attending services
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Valerie Grey (Funeral in St John The Baptist, Shipton Moyne on Friday 22nd March at noon). We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 4/5 Ash Class with Mrs Wheeler/Mrs Hubble – Mrs Royle
• Praying for Charles and Edward Entwisle being baptised in St John the Baptist, Shipton Moyne on Sunday 17th March and their parents and Godparents.
• Local issues: For more volunteers to help at the Thursday morning Friendship Club at the Dolphins Hall
• National issues: for our pharmacists, with increased workloads as they take on responsibility for dealing with minor illnesses
• World issues: Pray for a peaceable solution to the attacks on shipping in the Suez canal, especially that crews may be kept safe.
Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord. Psalm 31
