Prayer focus for the week beginning 24th November 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Lee Walk, Breuse Court, Fitzherbert Close and Box Close
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• Remember in prayer and give thanks for the Advent and Lent home group leaders and hosts. Pray for them as they prepare for the Advent home groups at the start of December. Pray too for the Advent Quiet Day on Saturday 30th November, that it will be well attended and be a time of spiritual refreshment for all.
• In the last week of November, interviews will be held for a new incumbent. Please pray for those being interviewed (and that there will be applicants!) and for those on the selection panel, for wisdom, insight and awareness of God’s guidance.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year Reception/Year 1 Lime Class with Mrs Hamilton and Mrs Bowen / Mrs Avis
• Local issues: Give thanks for our local social groups, such as the Thursday friendship group, as they offer communal places and activities
• National issues: Pray for the over 2000 children in the UK waiting to be adopted, that they and the many other children currently needing foster parents will be found stable, safe and loving homes.
• World issues: Continue to pray for the people of Ukraine, that they may not give up hope, and may continue to be supported by western countries. Give peace in our time, O Lord.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
Are you, or someone you know, in need of prayer? You are welcome to hang your prayer request on the prayer tree in the prayer corner at the front of St Marys’ church
