Prayer focus for the week beginning 18th February 2024:

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Romney Road
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• All who maintain rotas, which are so important in the smooth running of the church
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Barbara Greaves (Funeral at North Wilts Crem on Thursday 22nd February at 3pm) and David Coghlan (Funeral at Holy Trinity, Long Newnton on Wednesday 28th February.) We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
• Year’s Mind: Mary “Hetty” Niblett (20/02). (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends)
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 2 Juniper Class with Mr Brown and Mrs Smith
• Praying for Peter Leech, Darren Baker and Henry Mercer who are being baptised and confirmed in St Marys’ Tetbury on Sunday morning.
• Local issues: The Lent home groups – may all who attend deepen their understanding of what it means to be ‘simply church’ in our communal spiritual life and witness
• National issues: Pray for our police forces, that they may they may develop effective strategies for preventing knife crime and shoplifting
• World issues: pray that effective vaccines and cures may be developed for world diseases such as leprosy. Give thanks for The Leprosy Mission and all that it does to protect and support those affected
