Prayer focus for the week beginning 1st December 2024:

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: London Road, Jubilee Place and Combers End
• The Parish of St Marys
• Please pray for all who plan and volunteer at our social and fundraising events through the year, especially those who have just run so successfully the Christmas bazaar in St Marys which raised over £2400 towards church funds. Thank God for their service to our churches
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind – Charlotte Ind (1/12) & Kathleen Kirkby (2/12) – “Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 1 Plum Class with Miss Beckett and Mrs Walton / Mrs Smith
• Local issues: Pray for the Christmas Tree service at St Saviour’s on Saturday 7th December and for all those representing different groups in the town who will be decorating trees beforehand. Thank God for this special celebratory event.
• National issues: Pray for all those whose homes, property and businesses have been affected by the recent floods. May they get the support they need at this difficult time.
• World issues: Sunday 1st December is World Aids Day, 2nd is International Day for the Abolition of Slavery, and the 3rd is the International day for Disabled Persons. May God hear the cries of those afflicted, and prompt governments and countries to take positive and compassionate action to support all those affected.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
