Prayer focus for the week beginning 1st June 2025

Hands

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

  • Tetbury Praying the Town: Beech Tree Gardens, Gastrell Court, Courthouse Road & The Retreat
  • The Parish of Long Newnton
  • Give thanks for our Electoral Roll Officers, especially this year with the required updating
  • The Departed and those who mourn their loss including Dr George Birdwood and Jack Dunn. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
  • Local issues: We pray for our curate, the Revd. Dr. Steve Bullock, as he begins his secondment to the Thameshead benefice, and we give thanks for his valuable ministry in Tetbury. For our new mayor, Stephen Scott and we also give thanks for the successful running of the Woolsack races, and for those who contributed to their organisation
  • Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 2 Juniper Class with Miss Turner and Mrs Healey
  • National issues: Pray for all those injured while celebrating Liverpool’s FA Cup victory. May this deliberate act of violence not be replicated on any future occasions
  • World issues: Pray that nations will work together to promote fair trade, without excessive tariffs, and that workers will be fairly remunerated and have reasonable working conditions
