
Prayer focus for the week beginning 1st September 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Coronation Road and Lowfield Road
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• Please pray for the ‘Little Fishes’ Sunday School leaders and helpers, in the important work they do in sharing God’s love in Jesus with the younger children
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Martin Allies. We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind Ronald “Ron” Tanner (02/09) . (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Reception/Year 1 Cherry Class with Mrs Boswell – Mrs Thornbury, Mrs Bell/ Mrs Avis
• Local issues: Pray for the ‘Off the Rails’ celebration on 1st September at the Goods Shed, that it will be an enjoyable community event. Give thanks for the organisers. Pray also for the public meeting on 4th September about the lack of burial spaces in Tetbury, and that a viable solution may be found.
• National issues: As the new school year begins, pray that students will settle in quickly, and that staff will develop a good rapport with their classes.
• World issues: Pray for the Paralympic games taking place in Paris from 28th August to 5th September, that, despite their disabilities, competitors may achieve outstanding results in their particular sport, and encourage each other
