Prayer focus for the week beginning 20th October 2024:

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Grove Gardens, Upton Gardens and Highfield Road
• The Parish of Long Newnton
• Remember in prayer and give thanks for the choir members, including the choir in Beverston and the congregational choir in St Marys. Pray also for wisdom for the churches in the benefice as they draw up the advertisement for a new incumbent, that they may know what features to prioritise.
• Praying for Robert Sharpe and Sanit Dadee, who are getting married in St Marys’ on Sunday 27th October
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 4/5 Elm Class with Miss Browning /Mrs MacIndoe and Mrs Lee
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Local issues: Give thanks for our local library, and for the various activities which it offers to different age groups
• National issues: Pray that the labour government’s plan to provide breakfast for all children in primary schools will come to fruition, so that children’s concentration and health will improve
• World issues: Continue to pray for the protection of the people of Ukraine, as winter approaches and many power supplies have been hit. May a peaceful and just resolution be found to the conflict.

Righteousness and justice are the foundations of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you. Ps.89:14
