Prayer focus for the week beginning 21st April 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Trubshaw Close, Andrews Close and Dormer Close
• The Parish of St Marys
• Remember in prayer our Church Wardens and Assistant Church Wardens, in the time and service they so regularly offer.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Keith Body (Funeral in St Marys’ Tetbury on Tuesday 23rd April at 2.30pm), Maureen Best (Funeral at Kingsdown Crematorium on Thursday 25th April at 1.30pm) and Ian Spruels (Funeral in St John the Baptist, Shipton Moyne on Friday 26th April at 2pm). We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 6 Oak Class with Mrs Danton and Mrs Weston
• Local issues: Pray for our town and communications within it, particularly for the social media platforms, that comments may be positive and helpful.
• National issues: Pray for our shopkeepers, that that there may be effective action to prevent the current spate of shoplifting, and that the shopkeepers may be protected from violence.
• World issues: may all those serving in national governments be protected from personal threats and from attacks on IT systems and phones, and from threats to their families
