Prayer focus for the week beginning 21st December

Hands

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

  • Tetbury Praying the Town: Longtree Close
  • The parish of St Marys
  • We pray for St Mary’s School and particularly Miss Keen and Mrs Walton and the pupils of Pear class
  • The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
  • Local issues: Pray that all the carol services taking place in our benefice churches may draw in people who don’t attend church regularly, and help all who attend to celebrate God’s amazing gift of His son, Jesus – the central significance of Christmas.
  • National issues: pray for all our emergency services, that they may keep the community safe, especially in crowded shopping centres
  • World issues: May the angels’ song, ‘Peace on earth, goodwill towards all people’, become a reality in our world in the months and year ahead.

Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Matt.6:10
