
Prayer focus for the week beginning 14th July 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Chipping Steps, Chipping Street and The Chipping
• The Parish of Beverston
• Remember in prayer and give thanks for the Tower Captain and Bell ringers. Pray for their strength and safety.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss, remembering especially Lillian Wild (Funeral Monday 5th August at 2pm) and Malcolm Lodwick, a former bell ringer . We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for Arthur Ashworth who is being baptised in Holy Trinity, Long Newnton on Saturday 27th July and his parents and Godparents
• Praying for Poppy as she takes her final service in the Tetbury Benefice on Sunday 21st July, and for her and Garry as they prepare to move to her new parish of St Peter’s Grange Park
• Local issues: Give thanks for the service of our dear Rector, Poppy, over the last 11 years, and pray that God will bless her as she takes her final service in St Marys and moves on to the next phase of her life and ministry. Pray also for her husband, Gary, in the changes he will be making.
• National issues: As the summer holidays begin, pray that our airports will function effectively and be secure.
• World issues: Continue to pray for countries in crisis, especially Ukraine, Israel and Gaza, that the work of peacemakers may be effective in working towards just and positive outcomes.
