Prayer focus for the week beginning 23rd February 2025:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Old Ilsom Farm Road
• The Parish of St Marys
• Remember in prayer our eco-church representatives – may they inspire and prompt us all in knowing how to act more responsibly in our care of the environment
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss including Adrian George, Victor Smart, and Yvonne Wood. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind – Stuart Jepps (26.2) and Valerie Grey (28.2) – “Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death – often a difficult time for family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 1 Plum Class with Miss Beckett and Mrs Walton / Mrs Smith
• Local issues: Give thanks that Linda Richards, from Christ Church, has offered to take over the role of secretary for TACT (Tetbury Area Churches Together) and that the position of Chairman is to be taken by Steven Geers. May God guide both in their new responsibilities and thank Him that our local churches work so well together.
• National issues: In the light of the tragic Southport killings, pray that our government, the police and other agencies involved may know how best to guard against future similar violent acts by identifying and taking appropriate action against potential offenders.
• World issues: Pray that peace may be established in Gaza, and that desperately needed aid may be provided, and help given to restore people’s homes and communities.
