Prayer focus for the week beginning 25th February 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: St Marys Road
• The Parish of St Marys
• Give thanks for all who maintain our churchyards, including ‘Tetbury in Bloom’ organisers
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Barbara Greaves and David Coghlan (Funeral at Holy Trinity, Long Newnton on Wednesday 28th February at 11am.) We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
• Year’s Mind: Nigel Dobson (26/02). (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends)
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 3 Willow Class with Mr Hainsworth and Mrs Begum
• Local issues: May the Lent lunches be well attended and provide a time of fellowship; give thanks for those who provide the soup and serve, and may the money raised for the two charities bless the recipients
• National issues: pray about the increasing number of children regularly missing school, with all the implications regarding safety, social issues and future employability
• World issues: pray for all those made homeless by war, drought, floods, and other natural or man-made disasters, that they will reach safety and receive provision for their basic human needs and be treated with compassion
