Prayer focus for the week beginning 25th May 2025

Hands

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

  • Tetbury Praying the Town: Bath Road
  • The Parish of Beverston
  • Pray and give thanks for the Church Fabric teams, especially in the challenges they face in addressing necessary repairs
  • The Departed and those who mourn their loss including Joan Tubbs, Sidney Wilkinson, Dr George Birdwood and Jack Dunn. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
  • Local issues: May the many visitors to our local churches during the summer months experience a deep sense of peace and of God’s presence there. For Tetbury’s newly elected Mayor – Steve Scott and Deputy Mayor – Mark Baker, as they work with the Town Council and in partnership with groups and organisations in the town.
  • Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 2 Holly Class with Mrs Makin – Mrs Bell
  • National issues: Pray that the summer events, such as music festivals, will run smoothly and safely.
  • World issues: As Ascension Day is celebrated on Thursday 29th May, may Christians everywhere know the ongoing presence of our Lord Jesus Christ with them.

 Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea. Hear me and answer me. Ps.55 Vs1-2
