Prayer focus for the week beginning 26th October

Hands

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

  • Tetbury Praying the Town: Gumstool Hill
  • The Parish of St Marys.
  • Pray and give thanks for those who are still faithfully leading worship in the choir at St Marys’, and in the other churches in the benefice. Pray also for the Light and Life concert to be held at 7.30pm on Saturday 1st November by the St Cecilia singers, that it will be an uplifting experience for all.
  • The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
  • We pray for St Mary’s School and particularly Mrs Hawkins and Mrs Begum and the pupils of Willow class.
  • We pray for William Pullan and Rachel Small who are being married in St Marys’ Tetbury on Saturday 1st November and for their daughter Margaret who is also being baptised.
  • Local issues: pray that God’s loving purposes for Tetbury will be forwarded in the election of a town councillor on Thursday 6th November
  • National issues: pray that the half-term holiday will be a welcome time of respite for staff and students
  • World issues: Hold up again before God the people of Gaza, praying that the tenuous ceasefire may hold, especially praying that the aid lorries may enter safely and distribute food, water and medical supplies fairly to those who are desperate for help.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Colossian 4:2
