Prayer focus for the week beginning 28th July 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Church Street and Market Place
• The Parish of Long Newnton
• Please give thanks for ‘Tiggywinkles’ who launder the church linen
• Remember in prayer and give thanks for the Tower Captain and Bell ringers. Pray for their strength and safety.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss, remembering especially Lillian Wild (Funeral Monday 5th August at 2pm) and Malcolm Lodwick, a former bell ringer. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for Arthur Ashworth (Holy Trinity, Long Newnton on Saturday 27th July, )and for Michael Walter (St Marys’ Tetbury on Sunday 4th August) who are being baptised and their parents and Godparents.
• Local issues: Pray for the two-day Holiday at Home event at Christ Church, that all who attend will have a really enjoyable time and feel valued.
• National issues: Please pray for all Christian youth holidays and activities taking place this summer, that many young people may experience personally the love of their heavenly Father God, through Jesus Christ.
• World issues: Pray for the Olympic games to be held in Paris, that all may be kept safe, and that the event will help to draw nations together in peace and mutual encouragement
Trust in him at all times, O people;
