Prayer focus for the week beginning 2nd April 2023:
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Wheat Hill, Wisteria Road & Woodward Close
• The Parish of Long Newnton
• Revd. Canon Poppy Hughes (Rector), Revd. Pauline Setterfield and Revd. Dr. Steve Bullock (Assistant Curates) – for the Holy Spirit’s empowering to be shepherds after God’s own heart, to lead us with knowledge and understanding (Jeremiah 3:15)
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Paul, Colin Moore, Petronilla Trustram Eve and Derek Edwards. We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind: Ron Howell (02/04) and Evelyn Jeffries (03/04). (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends).
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 6 Rowan Class with Mr Godfrey and Mrs Eke
• Praying for Esme Grey and Thomas Lindsey being baptised on Sunday 2nd April afternoon in St Marys’ Tetbury and their parents and Godparents.
• Local issues: for the special services being held during Holy Week in the Benefice churches, that they will be well attended and help people to deepen their awareness of the events in the life of Jesus, leading up to His arrest and crucifixion
• National issues: as people start travelling for the Easter holidays, may disruption due to strikes be minimal and may people travel in safety
• World issues: for peace between Israelis and Palestinians, especially as Ramadan and Passover coincide
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Heb.4:16
