Prayer focus for the week beginning 2nd July 2023:
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Cirencester Road and Hardie Close
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• ‘Marriage Matters’ preparation leaders; pray also that couples planning to be married in our churches may make use of this opportunity to deepen their understanding and awareness of what marriage entails
• iCelebrateBaptism special service at St Marys 10.00am 2nd July: may it be a time of joy, recommitment and encouragement to parents who have recently brought their children to be baptised, and for all who were baptised later in their lives
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss especially Pat Boulton (Funeral at Cheltenham Crematorium on Wednesday 4th July at 1pm), Eliza Dear (Funeral in St John The Baptist, Shipton Moyne on Friday 14th July at 4pm), and David Lowsley Williams (Memorial service in Tetbury on Thursday 27th July at 2pm). We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind: Hilda McLaughlin (08/07). (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends).
• Praying for Isabelle Hainsworth being baptised in St Marys’ Tetbury on Sunday 2nd July and her parents and Godparents
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 3 Beach Class with Mrs MacIndoe/Mrs Bish – Mrs Royle
• Local issues: for ongoing discussion re a suitable site for the new surgery, that a convenient and appropriate site may be found and agreed upon so that work can commence without more delay
• National issues: for all who are facing financial challenges with higher mortgage rates – may they receive appropriate advice and help where needed
• World issues: pray that the world-wide internet may have strong safeguards built in to protect from harmful, hurtful and abusive material being displayed
