Prayer focus for the week beginning 7th January 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• The Parish of Beverston
• Give thanks for those who maintain the prayer corner in St Marys and pray that visitors especially will be encouraged to use it
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Peter Trustram Eve, Nick Tucker (priest, Funeral on Friday 12 Jan. at 2pm at Minchinhampton Baptist Church, Tetbury Street, Minchinhampton, GL6 9JH), Jean Peasley and Grace Vater. We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
• Year’s Mind: Godfrey “John” Sharpe (01/06). (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends).
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Reception Cherry Class with Mrs Boswell – Ms Kister/Mrs Bell
• Praying for Lyra Jepps being baptised on Sunday 14th January at St Mary’s Primary School Tetbury and her parents and Godparents.
• Local issues: for all those visitors who aLocal issues: for the public meeting to be held in January by Tetbury Town Council, as it presents its financial plans for the coming year
• National issues: At the beginning of a new year, pray for all those seeking to be free from addiction, that they will find the right support
• World issues: Pray for the protection of ships passing through the Suez Canal from attacks by Houthi rebels
For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Ps.95:3 Pray again for the protection of citizens in Gaza, especially against attacks on refugee camps
