Prayer focus for the week beginning 3rd November 2024:

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Hampton Street and Cornwall Close
• The Parish of St Marys
• Please remember in prayer the archivists and all who help to maintain our registers
• Praying for Eliza Marsland as she is baptised at St Marys’ on Sunday 3rd November
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 6 Rowan Class with Mr Godfry and Mrs Eke
• Local issues: Pray for the ‘Heart and Soul’ service on Sunday 3rd November, that all who attend may find joy as they worship with more contemporary hymns
• National issues: Pray that ongoing discussions and a vote in Parliament on the subject of assisted dying will recognise the value of human life, including that of people with disabilities, and that all the implications will be considered carefully
• World issues: Pray for the election in the USA, that people will use their votes wisely for the good of the country, especially with its significant role in world affairs.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
