Prayer focus for the week beginning 4th August 2024:

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Cirencester Road and Hardie Close
• The Parish of Shipton Moyne
• Please remember in prayer and give thanks for Diana Challis who cares for the church shop so diligently, and for all the stewards who welcome visitors to our lovely church and oversee the shop
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss, remembering especially Lillian Wild (Funeral Monday 5th August at 2pm) and Malcolm Lodwick, a former bell ringer. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind Robert “Nicholas “Nick” Stokes (10/08), Susan Townsend (10/08), Paul Pegler (11/08). (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends.
• Praying for Michael Walter who is being baptised in St Marys’ Tetbury on Sunday 4th August and his parents and Godparents.
• Local issues: Give thanks for all those who are currently giving their time and skills to repairing parts of the playground equipment in the recreation ground which have been damaged.
• National issues: Remember the many families who can’t afford to go on holiday. Pray that there may be positive local activities in which they can participate.
• World issues: In the light of the recent outage and its drastic effects, pray that international computer and IT systems may be kept safe and fully functional.

Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us. Psalm 62:8
