Prayer focus for the week beginning 4th January

Hands

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

  • Tetbury Praying the town: Mercer Way, Hatters Close, Clothiers Close, Wickhams Field
  • The parish of Long Newnton
  • Give thanks and pray for the early Tuesday morning Zoom prayer leader and those who take part, and for those who pass on prayer requests
  • We pray for St Mary’s School and particularly Miss Turner and Mrs Healey and the pupils of Plum class
  • The Departed and those who mourn their loss, particularly Greta Dallimore. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
  • Local issues: Pray for those people moving into the new houses near Tesco, that they may quickly settle in and feel welcome as part of the Tetbury community
  • National issues: pray about the challenges caused by the overcrowding of the prison system, and that those released early will be given the support they need to prevent their reoffending
  • World issues: Pray that this year there may be a positive, just and peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflicts in such countries as Ukraine, Gaza and Sudan

Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. Ps.63:8
