Prayer focus for the week beginning 4th May 2025

Hands

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Wheat Hill, Wisteria Road & Woodward Close
• The Parish of Long Newnton
• Remember in prayer our Deanery Synod Representatives, and all newly elected officers following the APCM
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Reception/Year 1 Cherry Class with Mrs Boswell – Mrs Thornbury, Mrs Bell/ Mrs Avis
• Local issues: Pray for the newly elected members of the County Council and District Council following the local elections on May 1st, that they may have discernment and wisdom in the decisions they make regarding finance and other issues.
• National issues: Pray about the increasing instances of shoplifting, especially in smaller shops where the loss of items can seriously challenge their profit margins and viability
• World issues: Pray for the situation in Gaza, where millions are facing lack of water and potential famine. May aid be allowed through and reach those in desperate need, without falling into the hands of Hamas.

Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea. Hear me and answer me. Ps.55 Vs1-2
