Prayer focus for the week beginning 5th January 2025:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: Mercer Way, Hatters Close, Clothiers Close and Wickhams Field
• The Parish of Beverston
• Remember in prayer those who meet for early prayers on Zoom, especially its leader, Sarah. May more people be prompted to join this valuable time together.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 4/5 Ash Class with Mrs Wheeler/Mrs Withers and Miss Rush
• Local issues: Pray for the services to be held at St Marys school during the colder winter months. May there be a deeper sense of fellowship and worship in the new environment. May our clergy be given the strength they need during the vacancy, when much more is being required of them, and may future advertising of the position produce the person intended by God.
• National issues: Give thanks for our local farming community. May they not feel discouraged or devalued by recent government announcements- pray that the government may have the courage and humility to revoke its decision if appropriate.
• World issues: As Donald Trump takes up his office as president of the USA, pray for his leadership, that it may benefit not just the USA but all countries in the world.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Galatians 6.2
