Prayer focus for the week beginning 5th July

Hands

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: Charlton Road and Old Court School
• The parish of St Marys’
• Remember in prayer our Gift Aid collectors and the Parochial Fees Agent
• We pray for St Mary’s School and particularly Mr Buckland and Mrs Royle and the pupils of Maple Class
• We pray for Andrew Hill & Karen Msowoya being married in St Marys’ Tetbury on Friday 10th July. We pray that it will be a very special day and the start of a life-long commitment, with God at the centre of their relationship
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
• Year’s Mind – Duff Hart-Davis (10.7) – “Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death – often a difficult time for family and friends.
• Local issues: Give thanks for our local community Choir, and pray that the forthcoming concert at the Goods Shed on the 10th July will be an enjoyable occasion for both singers and audience
• National issues: Pray that, with the current challenges of rising temperatures, people will be sensible in following health and safety advice, and that wildfires may be avoided
• World issues: Pray for the thousands of people affected by the two devastating earthquakes which struck Venezuela and the rescue and relief teams working to support them. Also, the more than 41 million people classed as refugees in the world today. Pray for their wellbeing, that they may be treated with compassion and respect, and that the day will come when they can return to their home countries to live freely, without fear, and be given help to rebuild their communities

Pray in the Spirit on all occasions, with all kinds of prayers and requests. Eph.6.18
