Prayer focus for the week beginning 5th October

Hands

Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)

• Tetbury Praying the Town: De Borg Close, Chapman Link and Brays Avenue

• The Departed and those who mourn their loss including Mike Van Sloots. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind – Brian Wood (8.10) – “Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death – often a difficult time for family and friends.
• We pray for St Mary’s School and particularly Miss Keen and Mrs Walton and the pupils of Pear class.
• Local issues: give thanks for the Tetbury Community Choir and pray that its concert, ‘Autumn Cheer’, on the 10th October, may bring joy to all who attend
• National issues: give thanks that the recent visit of President Donald Trump took place safely, and pray that the strengthened relationship between the UK and the USA will have mutual benefits
• World issues: continue to pray for the people of Gaza, facing violence, malnutrition and constantly having to move location – ‘give peace in our time, O Lord.’

Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me! Psalm 27 V.7
