Prayer focus for the week beginning 6th October 2024:
Before you pray, give thanks that ‘You, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer. (Ps.86 V.5)
• Tetbury Praying the Town: De Borg Close, Chapman Link and Brays Avenue
• The Parish of St Marys
• Please remember in prayer the servers who faithfully assist those leading the services. We give thanks for the faithful and diligent service of Diana as church administrator in the Benefice, and pray for Nikki Ind as she takes on the challenges of this important role.
• The Departed and those who mourn their loss remembering especially Ruth Smith, and Michelle Gardner (Service of Thanksgiving on Tuesday 15th October at 2pm.) We give thanks for their lives, and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends.
• Year’s Mind Vivienne Pople (11/10) . (“Year’s Mind” is to mark the first anniversary of a death –often a difficult time for family and friends
• Praying for St Mary’s School: Year 3 Willow Class with Mr Brown and Mrs Begum
• Praying for Matthew Townsend and Rebecca Wilson who are getting married in Holy Trinity, Long Newnton on Thursday 10th October
• Local issues: Pray for the links established between our church and St Marys school to be maintained, with the ending of Faith Explorers. Pray that the ‘Open the Book’ sessions will continue successfully with the new afternoon time schedule, and that uncertainty about future leadership of OTB can be resolved. Pray that the children will enjoy celebrating the harvest festival.
• National issues: Pray for all those currently unemployed because of health issues, that they may be helped back into employment as appropriate.
• World issues: The 10th October is World Homelessness Day. Lift to God all those who lack the security and comfort of a permanent home and pray that governments may make it a priority to address this need.
