- Give thanks for the ‘Posada’ organiser and hosts. May the event help families to feel involved in remembering the journey made by Mary and Joseph, leading up to the birth of Jesus.
- We pray for St Mary’s School and particularly Mr Godfrey and Mrs Eke and the pupils of Rowan class
- We pray for Clementine Ford, who is being baptised at Holy Trinity, Long Newnton on Sunday 7th December
- The Departed and those who mourn their loss, particularly Frank Heaven and Christian Loveridge. We give thanks for their lives and pray for God’s comfort for their family and friends
- Local issues: Give thanks for the Christmas craft fair to be held at the Goods Shed on Saturday and Sunday 6th and 7th December, and for the God-given skills of all who produce the items on sale.
- National issues: Pray for members of the Salvation Army as they play and sing carols in towns throughout the country at this time – give thanks for their Christian witness.
- World issues: Pray that food and gift parcels being distributed by various Christian charities to families in need in time for Christmas may bring much joy, hope and blessing to both the givers and the recipients.
Wednesday 10th December is Human Rights Day, also Holocaust Remembrance Day 80 years on. Pray that God’s kingdom of righteousness, peace and justice may be established here on earth.
